Application Programming Interface (API) is a connection between two systems or programs which allows them to communicate with each other. Association of Equipment Management Professionals (AEMP) 2.0 is an industry standard API in the construction equipment industry for the communication of telematics data from one system to another.

In the construction equipment industry, it is very common for a customer to utilize AEMP 2.0 API to retrieve data from an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) provided telematics portal and integrate it into a 3rd party system or dashboard. AEMP 2.0 API is very valuable to a customer operating a mixed fleet because they can integrate several OEM AEMP 2.0 API feeds into one single system, removing the need for separate logins across multiple OEM provided telematics portals.
